VCU is in the Final Four!

According to Yahoo News only one person in the United States picked the right 4 teams to play in the final four and the only person to pick VCU to be in it. Is she good or what for just being a school librarian? Diana the Librarian says that she picked VCU to win it all because the way that they play they play hard never give up on a play they play as a team and our very well conditions. VCU is very underestimated that is being compared to last year’s butler people are saying that they do not belong in the sweet 16 of the final four.

If this is not enough to convince you that VCU is the real deal than this should Rivals reported that VCU beat Number 1 seed Kansas Jayhawks by a score of 71-61 that is a good margin for play such a good team like the Jayhawks. There Coach Shaka Smart said that when he recruits the 2011 class he will be a sweet16 team but coach smart was one year off and instead they are final4 bound. In the second half the Jayhawks finished the game by just being the better conditioned team.

I have said the whole time that VCU has a really good shot at winning the whole thing I really likes how they play as a team and are in really good shape. I was truly convinced that VCU was the real deal when I saw them beating this top teams by a 30 point margin they didn’t just win won like that it was all of them none of the games they just slid by they won them all by a little comfort in between. That is not a easy thing to do because the teams they played are proven teams.

I don’t really care who ends up winning the whole thing but I am pulling for VCU to win it all because they have been doubted and talked down on the whole time. I feel that they have what it takes it all starts with Having heart which they got and playing as a team and they do that very well and as people have seen they are very well condition that is why they run off in the fourth quarter with the score up by 30 points.

Chad Pennington Tears ACL in pickup basketball game!

According to Yahoo News Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington tears his ACL in a pickup basketball game. This could be the last of Pennington that we see on the field. Pennington has already won comeback play of the year award 2 times since 2004 he has already had 4 surgeries on his shoulder since 2004 so he is a tough comeback type of player. The main reason we may not see a comeback is because if he takes this season off he will be coming back trying out for a new team at the age of 36 it is very possible to do thou.

Is this a surprise that he got hurt? This is no surprise this is the main thing that hurts a lot of football players playing in a pickup basketball game. My senior year in high school I was playing a pickup basketball game went up for a dunk came down landed on somebody’s foot and broke my ankle. Although basketball may not seem like a rough sport where you will get injured a lot of players that play other sport get hurt by playing pickup games.

It will be a tough thing for Chad to make his way back not just because this new injury of tearing his ACL but the problem with his shoulder that he has had surgery on 4 times is another thing that will make it hard for a comeback. The fact that he will be 36 when he comes back if he takes a year off will hold coaches back from picking him up.

Should we call it impossible for him to come back well it is never impossible you can do anything that you put your mind to as long as you believe that you can do it. I think that Chad is a good quarterback he was never a star but he was a guy that would get the job done and would get you a WIN at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

How Japans crisis may affect America!

According to Yahoo News Japan may play an effect against the U.S. by the stocks going down. Things like screens batteries and Chips and mainly made in Japan so those three things could hurt us. Japan makes more than 40 percent of the world’s electronic supplies. Apples stocks have already started dropping. One thing that this could help for the U.S. is that Honda and Toyota won’t be able to get their cars to America as fast so this might help for the sales of American made cars.

CNN also reported that the Nuclear Crisis may affect America if the situation continues to get bad. But as of right now the radiation is not at a harmful lever for American to start worrying. This crisis has already passed Americas Nuclear crises at the Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania that was the U.S. worst case in History. The U.S. has reported that Japan is taking the proper procedures in this case so that they can best recover and keep it from spreading.

I really didn’t know that the majority of the world’s electronics are made in Japan that’s just insane. So that means that stock market wise that’s the only part of this that could hurt us is the sell of electronics will be down. I think that it won’t affect us as bad as they think that it is going to because people already have enough they don’t need to get too greedy.

I really hope that all of the radiation stays in Japan and don’t spread to America we don’t need any more radiation we already have enough as it is from and of the Atomic bombs that our military has  tested in the deserts and in the mountains. If Japan can get a stop on this as it is I don’t think that the levels will rise high enough to affect the united states. We are already trying to recover from a million other things this is the last thing that the United States needs on its mind.

Coach Jim Tressel joins his players to serve their suspension!

According to Yahoo News the Ohio state university coach Jim Tressel has chosen to join the Buckeye five and sit out five games with the players. Four players Terrelle Pryor, Boom Herron, DeVier Posey, and Mike Adams were suspended for violating NCAA rules by selling their things like Rings and jerseys and some other things to a Tattoo parlor. Tressel was suspended two games and fined 250,000 dollars but Tressel has chosen to set out five games with his players Tressel said that they can only learn for their mistakes by being punished together this is why he has chosen to do what he is doing.

I think that 5 games is a little strict because they are seniors and they did not know that they couldn’t sell their stuff I could see if they knew and still sold it but I think they need to give them a break. I do believe in if you break rules and get in trouble for it you need to man up and face the consequences.

Is it a surprise that Tressel is doing this? Not really to me he is probably a little upset considering he was fined 250,000 dollars I would be upset too. I thing that he isn’t doing it to look good for the public eye I think he is truly doing this for his players to show them that he really cares and show his loyalty to them like they are to him by staying there last year.

This is all crazy but I do support what Tressel is doing I think it is showing his loyalty and his word to those players. I am interested to see if Ohio State can win without their offensive weapons. In the end I just hope the best for these players and coach Tressel even thou I can’t stand Ohio state.

K2 also known as Spice is one the rise!

According to Yahoo News K2 is on the rise also known as Spice many athletes are now using the drug because it gives you almost the same high as pot but with a little extra  and does not show up on drug test. K2 even caused one young man to kill himself after smoking some at a high school graduation party he was dead within hours of leaving the party. Even NFL players are using the substance this is bad because it is not a good thing to turn to just because it does not show up on drug test.

This Drug K2 is being banned in many states. The only states that have not banned it are the ones that support the use of marijuana. Even athletic trainers are reporting stories of things happening to athletes that have used the drug one young man that was in perfect health smoked some with friends and had a seizure and was found laying unconscious outside of his dorm room. Another kid went to the hospital because he said his heart was racing his blood pressure was out of the roof and he was hallucinating this went on for hours and wouldn’t stop.

K2 started off as not being called a drug but is now called a drug and a substance under investigation by the DEA. That right there tells you something is wrong with it. Some doctors and scientist are saying that K2 is worse for you then smoking weed. That should tell people to stop but just because its legal and gets you high people are smoking the chemicals up.

I have a friend that was smoking it back in Hawaii and he told me that it really changes your mood. I was finally able to talk him out of smoking it all the time. I really don’t like that people that smoke weed are turning to smoking something that is even worse for you than what you were already smoking but they switched because this don’t show up on drug test. I am sure that here before too long K2 or also known as Spice will be illegal just like weed or vice versa weed will be legalized and Spice will be made illegal.

Dollar Bill Changing To A Coin!

According to Yahoo News the United States may be getting rid of the American dollar and replacing it with a coin it will save billions of dollars. The reason it will save money is that the paper bill wears out much faster than the coin does which cost the government millions to reprint the money. The government will save 522 million each year by making the change but it will take around four years to fully get the change of currency in place. The only problem with the change is that Americans always choose bills over coins but it will be one step closer to our country recovering.

Do you support the change? I’m kind of 50/50 on it I’m not sure where I stand but I do know that I wouldn’t mind having a 1$ coin the only problem is that it means more change in your pocket. But I am all in for it if it means that it will help bring America out of debt. I do know that a lot of people won’t support it because of the fact it means a lot more change in your pocket.

Is this a surprise? Not to me I knew that this was coming I just didn’t know when if you look at a lot of different countries they already have dollar coins. That to me shows that the other countries just reacted to knowing it would save them money faster. We have already had a lot of coins already like the gold dollar and the half dollar so it wouldn’t shock me if they made the change.

We shall see if it ends up happening you know how it is the government says they are going to change one thing and the next week they have already changed their minds about it. But if they do I would support the change is it helps us  recover from the debt that we have.

Jamarcus Russell Headed down the wrong road again!

According to Yahoo News Jamarcus Russell is going down the dump again. Russell was first the biggest bust that the NFL has ever had he was the number one draft pick and barely made it as a starter in Oakland even third stringers were starting over him. Now Russell is facing foreclosure on his 2.4 million dollar house in the bay area. Russell is over 200,000 dollars behind on payments. Russell has not been on a team in over 8 months now his tryouts with the redskins and Miami were unsuccessful both teams did not want him. But yet Russell feels he is too good to play in any other league but the NFL.

Is this not enough to tell you where Russell is going According to the Press Jamarcus was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance a drink containing codeine syrup also on the streets known as purple drink or Lean.  This all happen in Russell’s home town of Mobile, Alabama where he was a prep star then going on to be a star at LSU the being the number 1 draft pick in the 2007 draft and being released from the raiders after 3 busted seasons.

Is this a surprise to you? Not me if you look at Russell’s Pattern of behavior nothing good is coming out of this kid not one thing. I really think the money is what got to his head he was a good Prep player and becoming a great college star to being the biggest bust of the NFL.  That right there points something out to me he did really good until money came into the picture.

It is sad to see something like this happen to any person not just him I really feel bad for him but to me it is his fault he has put himself in this position by all of the decision that he has made. I just really don’t understand why he doesn’t go play in the UFL or something like that to make money and try to get his skills back on the NFL level so that he could probably return. Something is clearly wrong with his mind set.

High school Basketball player falls over dead after win!

According to Yahoo News Thursday night tragedy struck Fennville Michigan when High school basketball star Wes Leonard hit the game winning shot in over time to win 57-55 shortly after while celebrating on the court Leonard collapsed and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Leonard was the star of the basketball team and the quarterback of the football team.  Leonard gave the team the opportunity to end the regular season 20-0 now they will go into the playoffs without their star. The coach reported that he was very well liked by everyone he was a positive kid always had the right things to say.

Leonard was a really good athlete it is just sad that he had to go the way that he did so young but yet you can say at least he passed doing something he loved. It will be hard for his teammates school friends and especially his family to grasp that their loved one or close friend is gone it is not an easy thing to do.

Why did he collapse? It is still unknown why it happen. I am sure that there are test and things being ran on his body now to try to figure out his cause of death. It seems like to me that this is starting to happen a lot now young athletes are just falling over dead there was another one that happen not too long ago but the boy was at practice.

I really feel bad for his family and the teammates I just couldn’t imagine losing one of my teammates like they did during the season I know it is emotional around there. There is nothing you can do to make things better because once he is gone he is gone it isn’t like you can just replace him. I hope that the team can recover from their loss.
